The posting on Craigslist was brief and in bold letters, with a photo attached. There was no mention that the accordion belonged to her great-grandfather, the legendary Marcos Ruiz III, who played with Narciso Martinez and Santiago Jimenez. He was the Conjunto legend from the Gulf Coast town of Freeport. The accordion was worth more, but she felt too ashamed to mention who it belonged to. She was desperate for cash.
